Negativity and Your Weekend Challenge

Have you ever been around someone who complains all the time?

How about that one co-worker who's always complaining about something? What about that one relative of yours that no one wants to invite over for Thanksgiving because they spend the whole evening complaining about the food? Most people who complain a lot wouldn't classify themselves as negative people. The truth of the matter is that if you're complaining all the time, you're just another negative person that no one wants to be around.

negative people

Being negative is a bad habit to have, and can be a pretty difficult habit to break. Do you ever notice that certain people seem to have problem after problem come up, without being able to catch a break?

This happens because all of their time, energy, and focus goes into finding more problems! They're too busy thinking about their problems instead of trying to find a solution! I know about this first-hand because I used to be one of those people. Another issue with being negative is that the only people who want to be around you are other negative people. Truth be told, even THEY don't really care about your problems. They're just waiting for you to stop talking so they can bitch and moan about their own problems. The Challenge Here's my challenge to you for this weekend. I want you to try and go a whole day without complaining or being negative about anything....this includes your thoughts! If you're about to say or think something negative, try to catch yourself and replace that thought with something positive. The funny thing is, some of you are reading this email right now and you're thinking..."There's no way in hell I can go without complaining for a whole day." There's your negativity kicking in again. You've already condemned yourself to failure without even trying. Just try it for a day, what do you have to lose? If you really want to up the ante, tell a friend or someone else in your life that you're taking this challenge so they can hold you accountable for the day. Let me know how it goes.
